With only two weeks left till my half marathon, training is sure getting tight and trying to find the time to schedule everything between work, family outings, volunteer jobs and my tri training is starting to get difficult. I can only imagine what this is like for my friends who actually have families of their own....wait I can't, they've got to have some sort of super powers that's all I've got to say.
Monday: I was back to my regular work schedule and boy didn't that feel nice! Getting back to my regular routine is just what I needed after one crazy week. After I finished my lovely day at work, off to the gym I went and met my new found friend...the bike. Now see, normally today would be a run day but since I did a 5k yesterday and would be leaving the area on Thursday, I had to change my schedule up just a little bit. I do have to say that I biked my behind off today, in 45 minutes I managed to bust out 8.66 miles!
Tuesday: I started off today still not feeling 100% but when I arrive to the Y for my am workout, I knew that I just had to push through it and that's just what I did. Again, I biked for 45 minutes but unlike last night I didn't make it to no 8 miles....it was more like 6.5 miles and I was lucky to get that. From there it was off to join my fellow classmates for our morning run. Still feeling like I shouldn't be there, I decided to take an easy but knew that I needed to get in the miles with my half marathon fast approaching. After our initial warm up, we sprinted off into our runs and run I did...non-stop for the whole 3 miles. By the time class was over with, I made my way back to the Y....only to send myself home a few hours later..........yep, I was sick!
Wednesday: Guess who's feeling better after sleeping off yesterday afternoon...ME!!!!! With a new spring in my step, I jolted off to the Y to become one with the pool once again! This week here our tri training for the swim portion had changed...instead of our one length of the pool (25 meters) counting as one time, it's now become one lap (50 meters) as one time...yeah me! Although...one is not looking forward to next week when I have to start getting into the pool two times a week and swim 75 meters. Oh, why does next week have to be the beginning of month number two...why!!!!
Thursday thru Saturday: Umm....I'm sorry to report that there will be no actual training on these day's due to the fact that I will be out of the area. I will however be doing TONS of walking...so at least I'll still be active :-)
Days left till Half Marathon: 9 (ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!)
