Day Seventy-Eight:
No workout today! First day back to work at Second St. and it was great to see everyone again! A week without my "regular's" was starting to wear on me.
Day Seventy-Nine:
No workout today either, which is probably a good thing after the day I had!
Things started off good, until it came time fore me to unlock the Union St side door and I ended up locking myself out of the Y! Yes, yes I am that good. So thinking that since I had my cellphone on me, I'd just call my friend Nick who just finished working out his Biggest Mover team, well....come to find out I programmed his phone number wrong into my cellphone and ended up waking up some random lady at 6AM...SORRY :) So outside I went, ran up the street and came inside the front doors just in time to answer the phone that was ringing. Think that I'll consider that my workout for the day!
Especially since my day just got better from there. Like instead of calling one of my co-workers cellphone, I ended up calling my bosses (who by the way was sitting right behind me in her office!) to telling the lady who came in and said that she was new to the Y and needed direction as to where to park her car and I answered "Well, we park the car's in the parking lot, although we did re-do our front lobby, so I guess we could fit a small car in here." She just looked at me and then started laughing. Starting to think that I may be spending to much time working with Jerry!
Day Eighty:
I asked for it today! Since I didn't have to be to work until 8am, I thought I'd go to the Y for a workout before work and ended up joining the Blue Team (Biggest Mover) for their workout, which may I add was oh so kind of them! We ended up doing things that A) I never heard of and B) never thought I would do. From wall sits to jack rabbits to screwdriver's to the oh-so-lovely kettle ball swings, we did a total body workout! I seriously think by the time we finished our workout, there wasn't a spot on my body that wasn't feeling it!
***Also note to self: If I decided to join them again that early----NEED TO EAT BREAKFAST FIRST!!!
Day Eighty-One:
I'm being really bad again....skipped working out. Thinking that I may need to hire a Personal Trainer just to have someone push me again.
Day Eighty-Two:
Today is my first day off of my 3 day weekends and yes I did workout today! After shoveling my whole intire driveway thanks to that lovely snowstorm we had, off to the gym I went. I ended up doing the ellipitcal but I was only planning on staying on their for a half an hour. 50 minutes later and I was finally getting off. Let's just say I was on one with a TV and really got into the movie that was on.
POLAR EXPRESS!!!! Ahhhh...........gotta love the holiday season!

Day's 72-77
Day Seventy-Two:
No workout today....just wasn't feeling it after working a twelve hour day.
Day Seventy-Three:
Well today I made my way over to the new fitness center and man, didn't it look great! I just loved all of the new equipment....I didn't know where to start my workout!
I started off on the new ellipitcal, where I stayed for 45 minutes and up the level to 10! From there I moved on to the bike, where I worked out for 15 minutes. By the end of the bike ride my legs were killing me...but do you think I'd stop there, no! My last final piece of cardio was the lovely row machine, where I put in another 10 minutes.
Let's just say that when I finished there, I was DONE!!!!!!!!
Day Seventy-Four:
Made it back to the gym today, after a long crazy day at work. I started off on the ellipitcal again, but this time I only stayed on fo 40 minutes. From there I moved on to one of the new bikes with a TV!!!
Now most people would find one of their favorite shows to watch while they're working out, but oh no...not me. I watched the local news! Guess you can tell that I don't watch tv that often, but on the plus side...I did get in an awesome 30 minute bike ride!!!!
Day Seventy-Five:
I think I may of overdone it today! I decided to take two, yes two, classes tonight. The first class was Group Power, which I was joined by one of my friends who's doing the Biggest Mover. After this class, I decided to stay and take Group Groove...thinking that since I just did an hour of weights, I might as well do an hour of cardio. It shouldn't kill me right????
Day Seventy-Six:
What was I thinking.....2 hours yesterday!!!! What am I nuts?!?!?!? (don't answer that)
It took me forever to get moving this morning, my body is so sore. Thinking that I needed to do something, not only to stretch my body out, but also to get a work out in...off to the Y I went to take a pilates class in the brand new studio!
Man, if you want a great workout....then you've got to take this class. IT'S AWESOME!!!!
Day Seventy-Seven:
I'm still a little sore from yesterday and Thursday's classes, so today's Group Groove class shall be interesting. And since it's going to be in the new studio that has a disco ball....I do hope we do a disco song!
When class got started, it was great to not only be able to see the instructor, but to also be about to have enough space to move! Long gone are my day's with my running into the walls, being trampled on by other people and knocking over all the weights!
When we made it to the peak song...my wish came true! Off went the overhead lights, on went the rope lights and yes, you guessed it.................THE DISCO BALL!!!! We did the disco to Stayin' Alive :)
BEST CLASS EVER!!!!

Day Seventy-One:
No workout today….another long day at work. It was also a quite day, with only two classes happening on Sunday’s and both of them being in the am and no fitness center, it made for a quite day. But it does give one plenty time to think….
Day Seventy:
I arrived at the Y on Hammond St. today for Group Groove. I was running a little late to class, but I managed to sneak in to the back of class before the instructor saw me! I was surprised to see that there wasn’t to many people in class this morning, but at the same time there were a lot of new people in class. Guess people were trying to find new way’s to get their workouts in due to the fact that there’s no fitness center at the moment.
Once class was over with, I took a walk by the fitness center and it just seemed so weird. There was hardly anything down there for equipment and no people. In the past, when I got down with Group Groove on Saturday mornings that place was always hopping. Today, not so.
Day Sixty-Nine:
Today is a sad day and for more reasons then I care to mention. I did however manage to drag myself to the gym in the AM before it closed and noontime. This would be my very last workout in the fitness center here at the Y on Hammond St. Beginning on Monday morning, the new fitness center at the Second St. location will be open for everyone to use.
My workout today was another quick one, since I had to become chauffer to my father today and then go and see about getting a new cell phone, since I may of broken mine.
Today’s workout consisted of a quick bike ride (10 minutes) and then one last workout on the elliptical. While I was on the elliptical, I was joined by two members. One of them I’ve gotten to know fairly well through this latest Biggest Mover program at the Y. We had a nice chat and it helped pass the time, before I knew it my half hour was up and it was time to go on with my day.
Day Sixty-Eight:
Today was the day to make up for all of my slacking this week. I spent a total of one hour and 10 minutes working out downstairs. I decided to skip Group Groove and just stay downstairs and when I was starting to lack some motivation, one of my friends kept me company J
My workout started on the bike, but this time I stayed on for a complete half hour. By the time I was down here, not only were my thighs’ starting to get a little sore but so wasn’t my behind!
From there it was on to the elliptical for a 25 minute intense workout….starting to build up that sweat J After I got done here, I had to run upstairs real quick. Apparently every time the phone was ringing in the fitness center, it was for me!
After the phone call, I made my way back downstairs and finished my workout on the EFX. By the time I was done here…I was so ready to go home!
Day Sixty-Seven:
Okay, today you can call me a slacker for as I did not do a workout of any sort. Instead I was told by one of my co-workers and one of the trainers to go home!
Apparently I looked as tired as I felt….thinking that the run on Sunday has finally caught up to me. Because it couldn’t be due to the fact that I work all of the time and treat sleep as an option not as something you need.
Day Sixty-Six:
Today’s workout was a quick one, instead of the usual hour I spend, I only did a half an hour. Go ahead and call me a slacker if you want to but hey, a half an hour is better than nothing!
And it’s not like I slacked during this time either…I did my 3.1 mile bike (hills included!) and I also used the elliptical.
Day Sixty-Five:
Well, no gym workout today and no yoga L
Instead after working a 12 hour day, I got to go home and shovel my front steps and part of my driveway! This it self was a task, due to the fact that we received somewhere around 8” of snow and I was not thinking the night before and grab my shovel from the shed out back. So after I trekked my way into my home for the key and then out back to the shed to grab the shovel… snow went a flying!
I did manage to luck out though….here I was thinking that when I got home, not only was I going to have to shovel my front steps but also the WHOLE driveway, instead of just part of it. But to my surprise, when I rounded the corner of my road…. I saw that I had been plowed!
Day Sixty-Four(Race Day!)
Sunday: Today’s the day! Today’s my 5k run….and guess what it’s snowing in Bangor ! As I travel down to Freeport for the Jingle Bell 5k Run/Walk, the snow has stopped and the sun is shinning…great day for a run!
I’m joined by my 3 cheerleaders, two of whom will be cheering me on from the sidelines and one who will be running with me to keep me motivated! I’ve also been told by one of my other friends that they expect me to win…but I don’t see that happening, I’ll just be happy to finish and not get hurt.
The race got started at 10am and off we went….
The route wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be and I got to see parts of Freeport that I’ve never seen before. It was a great way to decided where I wanted to go shopping afterwards; hey it is the holiday season after all! And when did Freeport get a Hilton???
When we reached about the half way point, I asked my friend how long we’d been out there and when she told me a little over 25 minutes, that when I started thinking to myself “wow, I am doing this and in really good time”.
When we were in the last stretch, those who’d already finished the race were out there cheering the rest of us on and telling us we were almost to the finish line, just a little bit more. As I rounded the corner of the school, there it was…the finish line. I could see the time clock and almost died of complete shock! The time was still under 40 minutes! My cheerleaders were waiting for me on the sidelines, just were I left them screaming at me and cheering me on with big smiles on their faces! As I crossed the finish line, I never felt so proud. I finished a 5k, my first one ever in 38.48 minutes!
There’s only one thing left to say…
BRING ON THIS MARATHON BABY!

Day Sixty-Three
It’s the day before the race; everything that I’ve been training for has come down to tomorrow. I do hope that I’m ready for this and I pray that I don’t get hurt!
Day Sixty-Two
Well, today was the day of my trial run. I traveled down to where I grew up and decided to see exactly how long it would take me to run 3.1 miles, oh and before I forget to mention this, it’s raining and windy!
The course that I picked up for me, I knew was going to be challenging due to the fact that it was mostly hills and just one hill along was ONE MILE long alone! As I started out, I started thinking to myself that this isn’t so bad...but as time wore on, my thoughts were changing. I kept thinking to myself, what did I get myself into…why did I agree to do not only this 5k coming up on Sunday, but why did I think that I’ll be able to do a marathon in October?!?!?!?!
By the time I made it back to the starting point, I’d been out there running for one hour and 11 minutes. I started thinking to myself, that’s not a good time for 3.1 miles….then to my surprise, my mom tells me that I didn’t just run 3.1 miles, I just ran 4.2 MILES!
Day Sixty-One
Opted out of a workout today for a few reason’s….besides just needing a day of rest, I really needed to get some housework done. You can only put it off for so long J
Day Sixty
Well my day went a little better today and I didn't have to work an extra hours!
I started off my workout downstairs on the bike where I decided to change things up a little bit and include some hills. It took me a little over 15 minutes but I managed to go another 3.1 miles!
From there I went to the row machine for 10 minutes, thought this would be a good way to rest my legs and work my arms! After I finished here I moved on to the lovely treadmill. I started off in a nice fast pace jog and when I got about 2 minutes into it, my left calf decided to cramp up, lovely....NOT!
So, I decreased my speed to a fast walk with every now and then going back into the run. By the time I finished here, I'd spent a little over 31 minutes and I may have gone 3.1 miles of it could of been 3.1k....I'm not really 100% sure anymore, but what I do know is that I had one heck of a workout and was about to call it a day when one of my friends asked me to join her for class.
I did end up going with her and making a complete fool of myself and once I mention what class it was, you'll completely understand why and may start laughing. The class I ended up joining her in on was.....
BELLY DANCING.....enough said!

Day Fifty-Nine
OMG, what a day! What originally started out planned for a workout today (2 1/2 hours) did not happen due to the fact I ended up working an extra 2 hours, turned into 1/2 hour workout. So what does one do when they've only got a 1/2 hour, they do the following...
Bike for 12 minutes and 50 seconds, which is the exact time it took me to bike 3.1 miles aka my 5k! Now can someone please tell me why it is easier for me to bike this 5k and in awesome time than it is to run it? Why can't this be your third option? Have people choose between walk, run or bike.
Anyways, from there I moved to the rowing machine for 5 minutes and then finished with a run on the treadmill. It has been a while since I've done an actual run and it was nice. Wonder how sore I'm going to be tomorrow?
PS: Still freaking out about Sunday, but trying to keep it together!

Day Fifty-Eight
By the time I got of work today I'd already miss the begining of Group Groove, so I decided to grab a quick bite to eat before yoga....thank god for turkey leftovers!
Yoga was just the thing I needed today and probably what the doctor would have ordered. I've been so stressed today, thinking about this 5k coming up on Sunday and how I'm not ready. All of my friends keep telling me not to stress, that I AM ready and that I'll do fine. Hopefully they're right and I will do fine...but as for not stressing about it.........yeah right, good luck with that!
